The Greek calendar is full of festivals
The most famous festival is that of Thessaloniki. Every November, Thessaloniki welcomes cinema lovers. The Thessaloniki International Film Festival has become one of the most important regional festivals in Europe.
The International Festival of Patras is also famous. It lasts from July to September and includes theatrical performances as well as classical concerts.
The Rockwave Festival takes place every summer, with big names from the rock, heavy metal and alternative music scene as guests.
For dance lovers, two remarkable festivals are organized, the Athens International Dance Festival and the Kalamata International Dance Festival, which is considered one of the most important events in the field of contemporary dance.
Smaller festivals are organized in many parts of Greece.
